We thought we would give you a great tip on how to clean your stainless steel, chrome, and brass on your beautiful furniture. With this little tip all your hardware will look like new again. Obviously, try this on a part of your furniture that won't be seen first. Here is what you will need...
1. Gloves (similar to the hospital kind)
2. A 0000 steel wool pad
3. White vinegar (yes, like the cheap white vinegar your get in the cooking isle of your grocery store)
Notice we didn't say some fancy chemical you pay a ton for in the hardware store!
Here is what you do. For pulls, take the hardware off your dresser, credenza, or whatever you're working on. Put the screws in a zip lock bag and label them. Screws and things for hardware are easy to lose, save yourself some time and put them in a baggy. Next, put your hardware in a zip lock bag. Add enough white vinegar into the bag to cover the pulls when you set the bag down. White vinegar is cheap so be generous. Wait. Go cut the grass or tend to your garden. Come back with your really cool gloves on. Take one pull out of the baggy, soak one end of the 0000 steel wool in the white vinegar and get scrubbin. Wha-La, you have fabulous looking pulls again. Yes this works for the stainless steel on your furniture as well. Do you have a little surface rust on a piece? Use the same process but subtract putting your entire piece of furniture in a baggy. And finally - Enjoy that piece again!
